Game Play Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work closely with designers to refine gameplay concepts and specifications, ensuring that features are technically viable, efficient, and achievable within project timelines.

• Develop new gameplay systems and features for players in AtomEngine utilizing Godot, GDScript, and C++.

• Evaluate, analyze, and enhance gameplay systems to guarantee optimal performance and responsiveness across various scenarios and scales.

• Create gameplay features with a solid understanding of logic distribution (client vs server), state replication, and the effects of latency and scale on gameplay dynamics and player experience.

• Collaborate with QA and testing teams to confirm features, recognize edge cases, and resolve bugs related to gameplay accuracy, performance, and user experience.

• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation that outlines system behavior, interfaces, dependencies, and constraints to facilitate collaboration and ensure long-term maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in game engine or gameplay engineering, including experience in shipping and supporting live service games.

• Familiarity with widely used game engines (Godot, Unity, Unreal).

• Proven experience in optimizing system performance.

• A strong focus on enhancing player experience at large scales.

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal contract stipulations.
