Functional Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist users in identifying and comprehending operational needs related to features that are to be created or altered;

• Conduct functional analysis for features that require development or modification;

• Engage in, and when necessary, prepare, compose, and update functional analysis documentation of varying complexities in alignment with functional architecture specifications;

• Create and develop system prototypes based on user requirements;

• Present the functional specifications to the developer responsible for implementation and offer support throughout the development process;

• Oversee and manage the work of programmers tasked with implementing the functional specifications;

• Aid in the formulation of the testing strategy;

• Create test scenarios and carry out functional and automated tests; assist project team members responsible for integration testing as well as users during acceptance testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering) or an equivalent qualification; lack of a degree can be compensated by an additional 6 years of experience

• At least 8 years of IT experience, which includes a minimum of 2 years as a functional analyst on Java or .Net systems (within the last 10 years)

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing object-oriented web systems (Java or similar)

• Preferred qualifications: SQL/Oracle; Agile methodology; government contract experience of 6 months or more
