This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, design, and enhance custom WordPress functionalities.
• Create and manage bespoke plugins utilizing PHP.
• Develop tailored WordPress Admin dashboards and reporting tools to monitor user behavior, training completion, and key platform metrics.
• Expand WordPress capabilities using hooks, filters, actions, custom post types, taxonomies, and metadata.
• Create custom WooCommerce functionalities and extensions.
• Build secure REST API endpoints and integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across plugins, themes, and the WordPress core.
• Produce clean, well-documented, and testable PHP code.
• Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot the existing WordPress codebase developed by the previous team, addressing issues and implementing improvements as necessary.
• Design, maintain, and build integrations with: ActiveCampaign, Payment gateways including but not limited to Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, and Braintree, Third-party REST APIs, Plugins like WooCommerce, CartFlows, Gravity Forms, WP Fusion, Webhooks, and internal business systems.
• Enhance Core Web Vitals.
• Optimize backend performance and database queries.
• Minimize unnecessary plugin dependencies.
• Optimize MySQL performance.
• Configure caching layers.
• Optimize asset loading and application performance.
• Improve scalability during increased traffic.
• Implement and uphold technical SEO best practices.
• Manage SiteGround hosting environments.
• Set up staging and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot server and application issues.
• Configure DNS, SSL, redirects, cron jobs, and caching.
• Oversee backups and disaster recovery processes.
• Work with Linux-based hosting environments.
• Enhance application architecture and maintainability.
• Refactor legacy functionalities.
• Develop reusable internal libraries and services.
• Review technical implementations and identify areas for improvement.
• Document systems, integrations, and deployment processes.
• Engage in technical planning and solution design.
• Monitor plugin and license expiration to ensure timely renewal.
• Support and extend Elementor as needed.
• Create reusable custom Elementor widgets.
• Ensure design consistency through reusable templates across the entire site.
• Collaborate with designers on responsive implementations.
• Ensure frontend changes adhere to performance best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve production bugs and critical issues.
• Monitor website health and application performance.
• Maintain updates for plugins and dependencies.
• Implement WordPress security best practices.
• Continuously enhance platform reliability, loading speed, SEO, and AIO.
• Audit and document the existing site architecture, including theme structure, custom plugins, database schema/custom tables, CartFlows funnels, WooCommerce configurations, and the custom LMS codebase.
• 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress and PHP development.
• Advanced knowledge in WordPress plugin development.
• Extensive experience with WordPress hooks, filters, and core APIs.
• Proficiency in REST API development and integration.
• Experience in WooCommerce development.
• Strong skills in MySQL and SQL optimization.
• Knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Knowledge of Linux server management.
