Full Stack AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• As the inaugural software engineering hire at Otonomee, you will play a crucial role in developing the company's AI capabilities and platform.

• You will report directly to the CTO, while also collaborating with the Product Builder.

• Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and delivering AI-powered applications end-to-end, covering backend, data, APIs, and lightweight user interfaces, all while laying the groundwork for the Enterprise AI Platform on Azure.

• In the initial stages, this position will be very hands-on.

• You will transform unclear business challenges across various teams into functional solutions using AI-native development tools.

• As the team expands, this role will transition toward platform architecture, integrations, and providing technical leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in shipping full-stack applications from start to finish.

• Proficient with AI/LLMs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic).

• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and agent-based systems.

• Confident in utilizing AI-native development tools to enhance delivery speed.

• Strong backend development skills in Python, C#/.NET, or Node.js.

• Basic frontend development capabilities with React, Next.js, or similar technologies.

• Experience working with Azure and cloud architecture.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience integrating SaaS platforms through APIs/events.

• Understanding of production systems and their reliability.

• Familiar with security and compliance frameworks.

• Comfortable working as a founding engineer in a startup environment.

• Strong product mindset and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Independent, proactive, and effective while working in remote teams.
