This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• As a Frontend Platform Engineer on the App Platform team at Calendly, you will play a crucial role in developing the core capabilities that drive our product ecosystem.
• Your contributions will have a direct effect on how our engineering teams deliver features and the quality of experience provided to millions of Calendly users.
• You'll assist in the evolution of our shared React architecture, package ecosystem, and overall developer experience.
• You'll engage in establishing engineering standards, enhancing the reliability of our frontend infrastructure, and creating the resilient tools and migration pathways necessary for our expanding platform.
• Your hands-on work will involve technologies like React and Webpack to create highly resilient, scalable systems, ranging from real-time server-to-client data infrastructure to shared frontend services.
• You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams across Calendly to convert their requirements into robust platform solutions that benefit the entire organization.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of platform services by implementing thoughtful monitoring, testing, and incident response strategies.
• A minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience at a SaaS or technology firm, emphasizing modern frontend architecture.
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Webpack (or similar build tools), covering application architecture, dependency management, and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining shared frontend platforms, libraries, and infrastructure that serve multiple teams.
• Familiarity with package ecosystems, including versioning, upgrades, migrations, and ensuring compatibility across applications.
• Proven experience in developing systems and processes that keep frontend dependencies current, stable, and synchronized across teams.
• Ability to collaborate with product engineering teams to enhance application architecture, performance, and maintainability in React applications.
• Strong debugging capabilities, with a track record of diagnosing cross-application issues involving packages, build systems, runtime behaviors, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in facilitating large-scale migrations (e.g., library upgrades, architectural changes, routing modifications, state management transitions).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and automation processes for frontend packages and applications.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with design system teams, product engineers, and infrastructure partners.
