Freelance Translator, English to Spanish (US) – Weekends

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and enhance machine-translated content from English (US) into Spanish (US)

• Elevate accuracy, fluency, and overall quality of machine translation

• Ensure the final text appears natural, as though it were originally composed by a native speaker

• Produce high-quality results within tight deadlines

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, or an equivalent qualification that includes substantial translation training from a recognized higher education institution; or

• A degree in any other field from a recognized higher education institution, along with the equivalent of two years of full-time professional translation experience; or

• The equivalent of five years of full-time professional experience in translation.

• Bilingual fluency in English (US) and Spanish (US) (native Spanish preferred)

• Strong localization skills and cultural knowledge of both the source and target languages

• Familiarity with medical terminology in the US market (patient-facing content such as AVS)

• Experience in post-editing machine translation (MT) and/or localization

• Knowledge of MT and LLM technologies

• Proficiency in CAT tools, particularly memoQ

• Experience in evaluating post-edited content

• Strong grasp of fluency, naturalness, accuracy, and coherence in post-edited texts

• Evaluation of raw MT output, including error identification, post-editing effort, and turnaround time
