This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Rapidly comprehend and analyze information presented in various formats across different industries and countries.
• Conduct visits to retail establishments to acquire product details (such as pricing and availability).
• Perform secondary research utilizing industry and company sources, both for personal insights and for dissemination purposes.
• Engage in primary research through trade interviews and cold calling, establishing direct contact with companies and industry organizations to enhance the quantitative and qualitative data available publicly.
• Execute comprehensive **B2B market research**, encompassing **industry analysis**, competitor benchmarking, customer segmentation, and market trend evaluation.
• Gather and manipulate large data sets in Excel to develop market sizes and assess brands' market shares, among other tasks.
• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data/information in response to client inquiries.
• Construct analyses and recommendations based on available information, supplemented by your own additional research as needed.
• Assist project managers in our regional office to produce high-quality, client-ready research outputs (presentations, written analyses, databases, etc.).
• Support and/or review/consolidate the contributions of other remote analysts at any stage of our research methodology. This may involve tasks such as querying analyst data sets, generating data estimates from analyst interview notes, and transforming existing market information into robust strategic recommendations for our clients.
• Report Writing: Create MS-Word and PowerPoint reports in English.
• Exceptional communication skills - interviewing industry professionals is a vital aspect of the role; candidates with sales and cold-calling experience are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated experience in **B2B market research**, with a solid grasp of the B2B buying process and decision-making frameworks.
• Minimum commitment of 30 hours per week while actively involved in a project.
• Proficiency in English and fluency in the local language, both spoken and written.
• Persistence in gathering information, particularly through trade interviews, along with meticulous attention to detail when comparing data across several sources.
• Outstanding time-management, organizational, and self-motivation abilities.
• Strong numerical skills - Capability to work with, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• A degree in business, marketing, economics, statistics, or a related field.
• Prior experience working remotely or on a project basis.
