Freelance Kotlin Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain JVM-based microservices (Java / Kotlin) operating on AWS ECS, App Runner, and Lambda.

• Engage with a comprehensive data architecture: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, RedShift, Redis, and S3.

• Develop event-driven integrations utilizing RabbitMQ and SNS.

• Collaborate on API design following REST (API Gateway) and BFF patterns.

• Implement services with OpenTelemetry, Tempo, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Deploy using GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines along with Docker and ECR.

• Manage external integrations with Auth0, GraphHopper, PostHog, and Sentry.

• Contribute to architecture decisions and the technical roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional backend development experience in Kotlin / Java.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems design, microservice architectures, and event-driven systems.

• Practical production experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, or DynamoDB).

• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (DynamoDB or similar).

• Proficient in Docker and container-based deployments.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (we utilize GitHub Actions).

• Commitment to writing clean code.

• Must be registered as a freelance professional in Spain.
