This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• The Editor will be tasked with creating, proofreading, and modifying content for LRN.
• This role involves managing web content, performing copy editing, and ensuring that documents are grammatically accurate, easy to read, and aligned with the brand image and target audience of both the company and its partners.
• Edit courses to correct spelling and grammatical errors, address consistency issues, resolve style discrepancies, and eliminate typos.
• Conduct proofreading at critical stages to guarantee maintained accuracy.
• Ensure that content adheres to US English language standards.
• Confirm that content satisfies LRN and/or its partners' requirements and preferences concerning style, tone, reading level, and audience.
• Ensure proper page layouts regarding text and image formatting.
• Execute comprehensive proofreading on course audio scripts and QA audio versions.
• Perform QA checks on videos concerning audio and text, watching for issues with other eLearning media.
• Maintain centralized project documentation.
• Delegate copy editing and proofreading tasks to freelance editors as necessary to adhere to schedules.
• Foster clear and open communication with the Planning team, Project Managers, and other project team members throughout the course's Content Development.
• Relay information to freelance editors regarding assigned projects; address their inquiries; ensure timely delivery of work.
• Guarantee that quality and consistency standards are successfully met at the conclusion of each course review.
• Provide status reports as requested by planning, project managers, or content leaders.
• Maintain and advance JIRA tickets as necessary.
• Ensure that all materials produced by LRN meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
• Ensure timely delivery of all projects.
• Assist in defining, developing, and refining internal content review processes and practices, including the LRN style manual.
• Graduate or Post Graduate with a specialization in English language preferred; candidates with a background in Journalism will also be considered.
• Must be a native English speaker.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with the Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition (17th edition was released in 2017), and Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition.
• Must demonstrate a perfectionist attitude, with a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of linguistic trends and phrasing.
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and a proactive interest in eLearning, adult education, and continuous skill enhancement.
