Freelance Auditor, BIO Standards

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Conducting on-site inspections and document reviews at businesses in Switzerland and abroad according to the applicable program guidelines.

• Applying and implementing the relevant certification standards: Swiss Organic Regulation (CH Ordinance), Bio Suisse, Naturland, SAS aha!, Suisse Garantie, Demeter, NOP certification is an advantage.

• Assessing the conformity of production, processing, and trading processes with the requirements of the respective standards.

• Creating complete, precise, and traceable inspection reports that serve as a basis for certification decisions.

• Communicating with certified businesses and internal program managers regarding deviations and corrective actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed education in agricultural sciences, food technology, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, or a comparable scientific field.

• Several years of professional experience in the food or agriculture sector, ideally in quality management, production, or certification.

• In-depth knowledge of at least one of the relevant certification standards; experience with additional programs is a significant advantage.

• Completed training as a Lead Auditor or a comparable qualification; experience as an inspector/auditor in organic certification is beneficial.

• Independent, structured, and analytical work style with a high standard of quality.

• Strong communication skills and confident demeanor when interacting with businesses of varying sizes and structures.

• Excellent proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written; good knowledge of French (at least B2) is required.

• High willingness to travel nationally.
