This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +7 more states.
• Assess and resolve fraud alerts triggered by monitoring systems associated with wire transfers, ACH, online banking activities, check fraud, and various other types of transactional fraud, adhering to established protocols and service-level agreements.
• Evaluate transactional activities to ascertain if alerts indicate legitimate customer actions or possible fraudulent behavior, utilizing available system data, customer profiles, and historical account information.
• Clearly and consistently document investigative outcomes within case-management systems, ensuring accurate decision-making, reasoning, and records that are ready for audits.
• Promptly escalate any suspicious or confirmed fraudulent activities to senior analysts, fraud management, or other relevant stakeholders based on established escalation guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams (e.g., operations, customer service, wire teams) as necessary to gather additional information or facilitate prompt fraud resolution.
• Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations related to fraud detection, documentation, and customer protection.
• 1-3 years of experience in fraud detection, transaction monitoring, or banking operations, ideally within a commercial or financial services setting.
• Familiarity with common fraud types, including wire fraud, ACH fraud, check fraud, and online banking/account takeover incidents.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, criminal justice, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in supporting commercial clients.
• Basic understanding of the intersection between fraud activities and BSA/AML requirements, along with the importance of adhering to established escalation protocols.
• Experience in reviewing fraud alerts using platforms such as Verafin, Guardian Analytics, NICE Actimize, Fiserv, or similar systems.
• Basic proficiency in banking systems and technologies, including case management tools, transaction monitoring systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Capability to analyze transactional data and customer account activities to make timely and accurate decisions in a high-volume setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills, with the capacity to accurately record investigative findings and rationales within case-management systems.
• Ability to meet production and quality benchmarks, including alert volumes, turnaround times, and accuracy standards.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple alerts concurrently.
