
Fractional Compliance Manager β Real Estate, Affordable Housing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.
β’ Lead and oversee the compliance program of the organization across various business functions.
β’ Track changes in federal, state, and local regulations and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.
β’ Ensure adherence to Fair Housing, affordable housing, privacy, AML/KYC, licensing, and other relevant regulations.
β’ Manage compliance for affordable housing initiatives including LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HOME, and other federal, state, and local housing programs.
β’ Perform compliance audits, tenant file evaluations, documentation assessments, and internal control evaluations.
β’ Prepare properties for agency inspections and coordinate responses to audit outcomes.
β’ Develop and sustain compliance policies, procedures, internal controls, and record retention standards.
β’ Create and deliver compliance training for corporate teams, property managers, and on-site personnel.
β’ Assist in acquisitions, financing, investor activities, and due diligence by reviewing documentation for regulatory compliance.
β’ Generate reports and compliance documentation for executive leadership, investors, government bodies, and external auditors.
β’ Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Asset Management, Property Management, and Operations to foster a culture of compliance.
β’ Act as a trusted advisor by providing guidance on compliance-related inquiries and assisting in the resolution of regulatory issues.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Risk Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
β’ A minimum of five years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, affordable housing, or real estate compliance.
β’ Profound understanding of Fair Housing regulations and affordable housing compliance programs.
β’ Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HOME, or similar affordable housing initiatives.
β’ Experience in conducting compliance audits and interpreting regulatory requirements.
β’ Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Strong written and oral communication skills.
β’ Keen attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
β’ Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
β’ Ability to influence and cultivate strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
