This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development, simulation, and integration of FPGA systems for instrumentation and control electronic solutions.

• Create, revise, and assess FPGA design specifications, requirements, and traceability documents.

• Execute FPGA design and validation utilizing VHDL, UVM, or comparable methodologies.

• Aid in simulation, debugging, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of FPGA and verification challenges.

• Engage in implementation, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, integration, and testing support.

• Develop and facilitate formal and informal testing campaigns for FPGA and hardware products.

• Offer technical leadership and daily coordination for FPGA and hardware engineering teams.

• Manage tasks, delivery timelines, schedules, risks, obstacles, and mitigation strategies.

• Mentor engineers and promote sound engineering practices.

• Act as the technical liaison for program management, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Support technical interchange meetings, sprint reviews, design assessments, test readiness evaluations, and milestone reviews.

• Collaborate with FPGA, hardware, systems, software, and testing departments.

• Review technical methodologies, design choices, verification plans, and testing strategies.

• Assist in integration planning, troubleshooting, and problem resolution during significant development stages.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in FPGA design, verification, digital hardware development, hardware testing, or related engineering roles.

• At least 2 years of experience leading a small technical team, mentoring engineers, coordinating sprint execution, or managing technical task priorities.

• Practical FPGA design and validation experience using VHDL, UVM, or similar methodologies.

• Familiarity with FPGA and hardware development life cycles, requirements, design, and integration documentation.

• Skill in troubleshooting FPGA, hardware, or integration issues through simulation, lab integration, debugging, and root cause analysis.

• Experience in supporting formal or informal testing campaigns for hardware, FPGA, or electronic systems.

• Capacity to provide technical direction, coordinate engineering tasks, mentor team members, or lead technical initiatives.

• Strong communication abilities for engaging with program leadership, customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams.

• Experience in structured, regulated, safety-critical, mission-critical, or quality-driven engineering environments.

• U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10 to 15% during testing, integration, and key design phases.

• Preferred qualifications include experience in aerospace, defense, avionics, instrumentation and control systems, real-time embedded hardware, safety-critical controls, FPGA tools, Python/Tcl scripting, technical reviews, personnel management, and integration of emerging technologies.
