Founding Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of essential product workflows related to tax preparation, tax review, bookkeeping, client requests, and practice-management functions.

• Create and develop product abstractions that transform chaotic accounting tasks into systematic, repeatable processes.

• Leverage the client's internal agent platform to transition swiftly from product context to functional software, then evaluate the outcomes until they meet standards.

• Develop interfaces, workflow states, data models, and agent behaviors that perform effectively in real customer scenarios.

• Integrate repeatable patterns derived from customer implementations back into the primary product.

• Utilize the product personally, analyze logs and data as necessary, identify issues, and persistently refine the details until accuracy is achieved.

• Proficient programming skills with experience in delivering production applications, robust internal tools, or customer-facing automation.

• High level of agency and the ability to navigate through ambiguity in complex customer environments where problems are not clearly defined.

• Ownership mindset with a commitment to doing whatever is necessary to ensure successful outcomes.

• Strong communication abilities to articulate technical trade-offs and build trust with non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable utilizing AI coding agents as your primary implementation tool while maintaining high standards for their outputs.
