Forward Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Temporarily integrate into the team responsible for the issue - whether it's the client engineering organization or the internal Netguru team.

• Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders, from the CTO to end-users.

• Convert vague challenges into a well-defined technical scope that you can advocate for.

• Lead pre-sales initiatives on AI opportunities, including scoping, pricing, proposing, and closing deals.

• Develop prototypes in days rather than weeks, focusing on functional software instead of presentations.

• Write production-quality code in Python or TypeScript (or any language the client utilizes).

• Implement AI-enhanced workflows such as copilots, agents, RAG systems, automation, and internal tools.

• Integrate with the existing client technology stack.

• Establish evaluations, observability, and safety measures prior to launching.

• Take ownership of the production process including security reviews, procurement, and change management.

• Enhance Netguru's internal AI platform with new agents, MCPs, and skills derived from field experiences.

• Develop enablement tools for internal AI delivery teams, including templates, runbooks, and reusable skills.

• Document reusable client patterns back into NetguruOS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years hands-on in building and deploying AI-assisted systems.

• A minimum of 2 years in a client-facing consulting or pre-sales engineering position.

• Demonstrated full-cycle ownership from discovery to scoping, building, production, and handoff.

• Ability to engage comfortably with both technical and business stakeholders within the same context.

• Proficient communication skills in Polish and English (B2+ level).

• Experience in production-quality Python and/or TypeScript, focusing on deployed systems rather than mere scripts.

• Familiarity with LLM stacks (Claude, GPT, open-weight) and an understanding of their appropriate usage.

• Knowledge in AI system design including agents, RAG pipelines, copilots, MCP servers, and sub-agents.

• Eval-driven development approach, defining success metrics prior to shipping and measuring outcomes afterwards.

• Integration experience with REST APIs, iPaaS, and common SaaS solutions (CRM, PM, BI).

• Experience in cloud deployment, conducting security reviews, and change management.

• Ability to translate ambiguous client pain points into a coherent technical scope and advocate for it.

• Credibility to engage with both a CEO and an engineer within the same day.

• Skilled in proposal writing and deal scoping for AI projects.

• Capable of managing senior stakeholders independently.

• A natural builder, prioritizing functional systems over recommendation documents.

• Stack-agnostic, choosing the most suitable tools rather than preferred ones.

• Effectively imposes order in chaotic situations, providing clarity and direction.

• Ability to deliver results in days, not weeks.

• Nice to have: Experience in Finance, Retail, or Supply Chain domains.

• Public visibility through conference presentations, open-source contributions, or published writings on AI.

• Experience in SDLC orchestration and managing multi-agent pipelines.
