
Forward-Deployed Scientist – Computational & Medicinal Chemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Serve as a forward-deployed scientist, dedicated to fostering adoption and achieving tangible, measurable outcomes.
• Engage directly with pharmaceutical users of the Co-Folding Application, providing guidance on benchmarking, testing, and applying the tool to genuine discovery programs.
• Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders throughout pharmaceutical R&D, including computational and medicinal chemists as well as program leaders.
• Relay insights gathered from the field back to the Product and AI Applications Team to influence platform enhancements.
• Conduct both in-person and remote workshops to educate users and disseminate best practices among research teams.
• Create case studies that highlight the impact achieved and can be replicated across various projects.
• Contribute scientific materials such as example datasets, usage guidelines, and evaluation protocols.
• PhD in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience as a power user in structure-based workflows, including co-folding, docking, and protein-ligand modeling in actual drug discovery initiatives.
• Knowledge of molecular visualization and cheminformatics tools (e.g., PyMOL, RDKit).
• Established credibility with both computational and medicinal chemists, with the capability to bridge the needs of each group.
• Basic scripting skills to execute and clarify notebooks and analyses.
• Ability to work without comprehensive specifications – takes initiative and makes progress in ambiguous situations.
• Clear communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Preferred: Experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., CRO, application scientist).
• Familiarity with OpenFold, Boltz, or similar structure/affinity prediction tools.
• Experience in enterprise IT/data environments typical of large pharmaceutical companies.
• Experience in high-pressure or time-sensitive projects.
