This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Act as a technical authority and consultant, utilizing extensive knowledge in cell culture, seed train development, bioreactor operation, media and feed strategies, perfusion, and single-use technologies.
• Collaborate with customers as a reliable technical advisor to facilitate mammalian cell culture process development, scale-up, process optimization, and the adoption of single-use upstream technologies.
• Oversee pre- and post-sales technical initiatives, such as product evaluations, proof-of-principle (PoP) studies, demonstrations, pilot runs, and technology qualifications in regulated settings.
• Provide thorough troubleshooting as the primary point for quality and performance challenges, working alongside Quality, Field Service, and Technical Support to ensure swift and compliant resolutions.
• Conduct technical training for both internal and external stakeholders, including process scientists, engineers, and operators, to enhance skills and confidence in Thermo Fisher Scientific systems.
• Perform workflow consulting and GEMBA walks at customer locations to pinpoint process improvement opportunities and align solutions with operational objectives.
• Assist in Bioprocessing Development Center (BDC) activities and on-site demonstrations, ensuring consistent messaging and technical excellence.
• Create and execute adoption plans with measurable outcomes (e.g., time-to-first-run, time-to-first-GMP lot) and carry out follow-up utilization assessments.
• Maintain detailed records of all activities in CRM/SFDC, ensuring accurate documentation of technical engagements, win strategies, and risk management plans.
• Work collaboratively across functions with Account Managers, Field Service Engineers, Technical Support, Product Management, R&D, and Quality/Regulatory to deliver seamless comprehensive outcomes.
• Collect and communicate the Voice of Customer (VOC) to shape product roadmaps, feature development, and best-practice documentation (application notes, white papers, case studies).
• Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at industry events, such as conferences, workshops, and webinars, by delivering workflow-based technical presentations and showcasing thought leadership.
• BS/MS/PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related field (or equivalent bioprocessing experience).
• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in supporting mammalian cell culture operations, upstream process development, MSAT, or GMP manufacturing using single-use bioreactor technologies.
• Hands-on experience with single-use bioreactors (5–2,000 L+), mammalian cell culture, and fed-batch and/or perfusion processes.
• Demonstrated track record of technical engagement and process troubleshooting in Upstream Process Development and cGMP environments.
• Experience in supporting scale-up, technology transfer, and process optimization initiatives from development through to manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of single-use upstream bioprocess technologies, including bioreactors, mixers, fluid transfer systems, and related fluid management solutions.
