Forward Deployed Engineering Lead – Data Science, Integration

Posted May 6

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Implement cutting-edge data science and integration innovations, utilizing API-led integration ecosystems to develop operational workflows and advanced ML pipelines directly at client locations in defense, intelligence, and aerospace sectors.

• Establish yourself as a trusted partner embedded with mission owners, operating in both classified and unclassified environments to thoroughly comprehend operational challenges and convert them into comprehensive data science and integration solutions using the most suitable tools.

• Foster innovation at the front lines by acting as the vital link between customer missions and internal engineering teams, collecting frontline feedback to collaboratively design integration patterns, workflow templates, and data science capabilities that enhance national security outcomes.

• Enhance efficiency, mission readiness, and trust by assisting U.S. and allied governments in deploying integrated data technology stacks that ensure quicker response times, improved personnel utilization, and more effective logistics and asset management.

• Achieve tangible results through hands-on implementation by taking charge of the end-to-end technical delivery of intricate data pipelines, integration flows, and predictive models—personally writing essential code, configuring systems, and troubleshooting field issues while mentoring junior team members.

• Create transformative data science solutions by assuming primary responsibility for the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, scalable production ML and analytics systems, including predictive models, intelligent automation pipelines, and LLM-augmented workflows.

• Design and construct bespoke integration architectures by developing custom API-led integrations using enterprise integration platforms to ensure seamless connectivity across enterprise data sources, operational systems, and cloud environments in highly regulated settings.

• Coordinate complex workflows by leveraging modern workflow automation and process orchestration platforms to model, automate, and optimize multi-stakeholder operational processes in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and mission operations contexts.

• Manage the entire data lifecycle on-site with clients—from strategic data modeling to hands-on ETL/ELT pipeline construction, feature engineering, and integration strategy—ensuring data is consistently prepared, optimized, and secure for advanced analytics and AI applications.

• Lead rapid prototyping and iteration by developing proofs-of-concept and MVPs alongside customer teams to showcase data science and integration capabilities and accelerate mission-aligned delivery.
