Forward Deployed Engineer – SaaS, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• In the role of Forward Deployed Engineer, you will operate at the crossroads of engineering, product development, and customer engagement.

• You will grasp our customers' operational challenges, convert them into technical solutions, and assist in the implementation process until go-live.

• Your responsibilities will include developing tailored solutions, integrations, and workflows using Ruby on Rails – ranging from requirement gathering and prototyping to production deployment.

• You will strategically utilize AI coding tools to ensure quick and high-quality implementations.

• You will interpret customer needs into clear technical and product decisions, collaborating closely with the CTO, CEO, and COO.

• You will closely collaborate with our engineering team (backend, data science, AI) to ensure that customer insights lead to enhancements in the core product.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a technical capacity such as Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, or Technical Consultant – preferably in a SaaS or AI/Data context.

• Strong software engineering capabilities (preferably in Ruby on Rails) along with a solid understanding of data and machine learning principles.

• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI development tools like Claude Code – for both developing LLM-driven features and AI-assisted software development.

• Experience in direct customer interaction, a strong product sense, and the ability to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• A pragmatic, solution-focused work approach characterized by high personal accountability and an ownership mindset – favoring the development of a working prototype over prolonged discussions about the ideal architecture.

• Openness to participate in regular onsite meetings with our clients, primarily within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

• Proficient German language skills (minimum C1 level) and good English language skills (minimum B2 level), both in written and spoken forms.
