Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage enterprise deployments from start to finish: Collaborate with customers to comprehend legal workflows and technical environments; spearhead implementations within complex organizations; convert unclear requirements into production systems.

• Develop integrations and AI-driven workflows: Connect Spellbook with document management systems (such as iManage, NetDocuments), identity systems, and internal APIs. Create and execute workflow-centric solutions (approvals, routing, permissions, auditability) customized to address real enterprise challenges and tools.

• Customize and enhance the product for clients: Adjust model inference, enrich context, and modify the product experience to align with specific customer requirements across deployments.

• Promote adoption and impact: Collaborate closely with end users (lawyers and legal operations), iterate swiftly based on feedback, and ensure solutions are dependable, efficient, and actively utilized.

• Provide insights back into the platform: Recognize repeatable patterns across deployments and shape the core roadmap and platform capabilities by transforming custom work into scalable features.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in building and deploying production software systems.

• Strong backend or full-stack engineering expertise.

• Proven experience in building APIs and integrating with external systems.

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Experience with LLM systems (e.g., RAG, prompting, evaluations).

• Comfortable engaging directly with enterprise customers.

• Strong sense of ownership, with the capability to transform ambiguous problems from definition to delivered solution.
