Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with enterprise clients — finance, accounts payable, healthcare, and IT teams — to define, design, and implement automations on the Kognitos platform.

• Convert vague business requirements and undocumented processes into functional “English as Code” automations.

• Develop custom integrations between Kognitos and client systems: ERPs, databases, APIs, email, and document sources.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues at client locations, often under tight deadlines.

• Manage the technical relationship with key accounts throughout onboarding, deployment, and growth.

• Provide field insights back to product and engineering teams to enhance the platform for all users.

• Travel to client sites as necessary (up to approximately 25%).

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience as a software engineer, solutions engineer, or forward-deployed engineer, preferably in a customer-facing technical position.

• Strong expertise in Python and/or another general-purpose programming language; capable of reading and writing production-level code.

• Experience with integrating enterprise systems (REST/SOAP APIs, databases, ERP or finance systems, or RPA tools).

• Ability to function independently in unclear, fast-paced customer environments.

• Exceptional communication skills — capable of articulating technical trade-offs to both engineers and business stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
