Forward Deployed Engineer – AI, Business Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Analyze existing workflows from end to end to identify the root causes of operational inefficiencies, such as handoff failures, governance deficiencies, and mismatched tools.

• Redesign operations for a more streamlined workflow, clearer decision-making authority, and effective collaboration between humans and AI to enhance throughput.

• Develop detailed operating models that encompass organizational structure, roles, governance, cross-functional interaction frameworks, and value realization.

• Set performance benchmarks and create measurement frameworks to continuously monitor progress throughout the engagement.

• Identify value gaps in projects that have stalled, diagnosing areas where technology adoption has lagged behind deployment to realign the path to return on investment (ROI).

• Create functional AI-powered prototypes by directly utilizing LLM APIs, platform-native features, and low-code/no-code environments.

• Use working demos and prototypes as primary tools for stakeholder alignment within the client's actual workflows.

• Assess the practical benefits of AI in workflows versus potential distractions, providing clients with realistic and grounded expectations.

• Assist in the implementation of new tools and workflows, ensuring that adoption is deeply rooted in process design and change management principles.

• Develop enablement materials to ensure that new technology implementations effectively align with and support the desired operating model.

• Engage in complex project scoping and perform diagnostic assessments to capture value, assess implementation readiness, and create adoption strategies.

• Contribute reusable frameworks and tools that enhance practice qualification and scoping continuously.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in management consulting or similar roles in enterprise technology, SaaS, or professional services.

• Proven expertise in at least two of the following areas: organizational design, operating model transformation, change management, technology enablement, process engineering, or go-to-market execution.

• A demonstrated ability to construct structured, evidence-based arguments to influence and align senior stakeholders effectively.

• Practical experience in developing functional AI-powered workflows, automations, and prototypes, with a track record of delivering working solutions rather than just conceptual designs.

• Capacity to quickly scope and create a working proof of concept within the limitations of a client engagement to persuade skeptical stakeholders.

• Comfort and capability to work independently without a dedicated engineering team, knowing when to develop solutions autonomously and when to seek additional support.

• A strong diagnostic mindset dedicated to understanding root causes and addressing broken processes before proposing solutions.

• Deep commitment to achieving tangible outcomes and measurable impact rather than merely delivering static outputs.

• Preference for early proof, favoring the construction of working prototypes over the creation of standard roadmaps.

• Ability to function effectively in a forward-deployed role, integrating closely with client engineers, product leads, and operators.

• Experience with large-scale organizational assessments, process redesigns, or significant technology rollouts is highly desirable.
