Forward Deployed Engineer – Agentic AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the discovery and solution development for GenAI / Agentic AI projects by collaborating closely with client stakeholders, users, and technical teams to comprehend workflows, systems, data, and business constraints.

• Drive initial opportunities by partnering with account executives, product analysts, and technology subject matter experts to create prototypes, define scope, establish implementation roadmaps, and estimate effort.

• Convert ambiguous business challenges into validated AI solution designs that encompass model strategy, data access, orchestration, tool utilization, integration patterns, and production limitations.

• Quickly build proof-of-concepts, focusing on speed and impact rather than perfect design, while conducting technical spikes to validate architectural assumptions with real or representative systems and data.

• Assess and choose suitable AI frameworks, platforms, and tools, including large language models (LLMs), vector databases, orchestration frameworks, cloud AI services, and agentic tooling.

• Clearly present, defend, and simplify complex AI, architecture, and delivery concepts for both business and technical stakeholders.

• Remain engaged through the MVP or initial production release to maintain context, support delivery teams, and confirm that the solution operates effectively in the customer's environment.

• Establish evaluation criteria for AI quality and business impact, including metrics such as accuracy, groundedness, tool-call correctness, latency, cost, adoption, and workflow effectiveness.

• Ensure that proposed solutions comply with security, regulatory, Responsible AI, observability, and production-readiness principles.

• Transform field insights into reusable Solvd assets, including solution blueprints, evaluation frameworks, and service accelerators.

⛳️ Requirements

• A seasoned hands-on technical leader who has transitioned from full-stack or server-side software engineering into the GenAI and agentic AI space.

• Proven experience in designing, prototyping, and integrating systems that merge LLMs, agentic frameworks, enterprise data, and business workflows.

• Adept at integrating established engineering patterns with emerging AI capabilities to produce reliable, production-ready solutions.

• Skilled in guiding teams and clients through uncertainty, capable of rapid prototyping, validating assumptions, and moving towards delivery-ready designs.

• Comfortable engaging with executives, product teams, operational users, and engineers, translating intricate AI concepts into clear, actionable solution narratives.

• Pragmatic, inquisitive, collaborative, and dedicated to solving customer problems, with equal emphasis on technical robustness, business value, user adoption, and delivery readiness.

• 8+ years of experience in IT, with significant expertise in software design and engineering.

• 2+ years of direct experience in architecting or developing GenAI or agentic AI systems utilizing contemporary LLM ecosystems, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure AI, or AWS Bedrock.

• Experience in presales solution development, discovery, prototyping, or early delivery for AI projects.

• Strong grasp of LLM orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, prompt engineering, and tool-calling methodologies.

• Understanding of cost modeling for AI workloads, including token usage, inference scaling, and model hosting.

• Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with its AI/ML service offerings.

• Proven ability to lead technical discussions with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders in presales, discovery, or early delivery contexts.

• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, API design, integration patterns, and production-readiness practices.

• Familiarity with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, containerization, observability, and DevSecOps.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate complex solutions.
