Forward Deployed AI Engineer – Senior/Principal Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive full-stack AI/ML applications on Cloudera to illustrate enterprise AI and agentic use cases.

• Collaborate directly with key customer teams to progress AI and agentic use cases from initial prototypes to production readiness.

• Provide guidance to customer leaders on AI roadmaps, solution design, deployment, and specific use cases.

• Standardize effective patterns into reference architectures, productized solutions, starter kits, and internal playbooks.

• Serve as a thought leader and mentor for Cloudera teams.

• Contribute to resources that enhance Cloudera’s AI capabilities.

• Relay customer and channel feedback to Product teams to refine AI platforms and products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in building and deploying production-grade systems.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in developing ML systems or GenAI/agentic applications.

• Proficient in software engineering, data engineering, and applied AI/ML skills.

• Experience in creating full-stack ML applications or agentic systems using modern AI frameworks and tools.

• Familiarity with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.

• In-depth knowledge of LLMOps/MLOps, including evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

• Experience in designing scalable AI solution architectures that comply with enterprise security, governance, and compliance standards.

• Ability to engage effectively with both technical and executive customer audiences and translate their needs into a technical strategy.

• Capacity to operate independently in dynamic and ambiguous customer environments.

• Collaborative attitude and enthusiasm for mentorship, internal enablement, or creating reusable tools.

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a related field, or equivalent experience.

• This position is not eligible for immigration support or relocation.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with the Cloudera platform is also a preferred qualification.

• Experience with Spark, Iceberg, NiFi, or similar open-source big data technologies is an additional qualification.

• Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, inference optimization, model serving, or distributed AI workloads is considered an additional qualification.
