Forward-Deployed AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• We are seeking a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to develop and deliver AI-driven products and agents from start to finish.

• You will be involved in automating underwriting decisions, constructing intelligent borrower-facing experiences, creating agents that navigate intricate loan workflows, and leveraging AI to reduce tasks that currently take days down to minutes.

• Develop multi-step LLM agents capable of navigating loan files, assessing conditions, flagging exceptions, and providing recommendations to underwriters.

• Enhance and upgrade document extraction pipelines — including income documents, appraisals, title, and more — utilizing the latest extraction and classification models.

• Create AI-generated task lists and intelligent checklists that adjust to each borrower's loan scenario.

• Oversee production AI performance — including accuracy, coverage, and failure modes — and continuously iterate for improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• AI systems builder: You have successfully launched LLM-powered features or agents into production and have addressed real-world challenges — such as latency, hallucination, evaluation, prompt regression, and retrieval quality — beyond just demo scenarios.

• Strong Python: You produce clean, production-grade Python code. You are adept with async programming, APIs, data structures, and the engineering principles required for robust systems.

• LLM tooling fluency: You have experience with major LLM APIs and at least one agent orchestration framework. You understand what structured output, tool calling, RAG, and evaluations entail in practical applications.

• Product thinking: You can transition from "here's a business process" to "here's an AI system design" independently, without needing someone to interpret your vision. You focus on the user experience, not just the model itself.

• Ownership without guardrails: You lead features from beginning to end — encompassing requirements, design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring. You do not pass off challenging tasks to other teams.

• Fast iteration: You prioritize early shipping, measurement, and enhancement. You thrive on short feedback cycles and are eager to eliminate unnecessary processes.
