Forecasting Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish requirements for analysis within a specific business domain and conduct thorough analysis to identify trends as outlined in those requirements.

• Detect patterns and assist the business in adapting to evolving market conditions.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and interpret data effectively.

• Manage substantial data sets, including facts, figures, and mathematical formulas, while performing analytical tasks and delivering analysis outputs that align with customer expectations.

• Collaborate with Demand Planners to enhance model transparency and collect feedback for model improvement.

• Oversee the statistical forecasting process to furnish the business with a statistically grounded forecast for its demand planning activities.

• Design, construct, implement, and/or maintain Python/PySpark algorithms to carry out predictive analysis that enhances planning processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.

• Significant experience in data modeling within a large, intricate business environment featuring multiple systems.

• Capacity to distill complex problems and convey them to a diverse audience clearly.

• Design, create, implement, and/or sustain Python/PySpark algorithms for predictive analysis aimed at refining planning processes.

• Evaluate code, define, and execute strategies to achieve more accurate and efficient results.

• Over 10 years of practical knowledge in analytical techniques related to statistical modeling and machine learning, with a focus on forecasting, particularly driver-based forecasting.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying statistical or machine learning solutions.

• Familiarity with data science cloud platforms such as Databricks (preferred) or equivalent.

• Background in working with FMCG, Food & Beverages, Retail, or similar industry data, along with an understanding of business processes, will be considered advantageous (nice to have).
