Flight Support Engineer – Night Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Travel to and engage in commercial deployments (Brazil) to assist with flight testing, enhance customer success, and provide product support.

• Act as Pilot In Command or Ground Control Operator for experimental and developmental unmanned aircraft.

• Lead or take part in ground and flight test events as either Test Conductor or Test Crew member.

• Ensure uninterrupted operations at customer locations by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving any issues, both on-site and through remote support, aided by Pyka’s engineering teams.

• Participate in customer technical support on-call rotations during night shifts, from 9pm to 5am BRT.

• Suggest new features, enhancements, design modifications, etc., to the design team.

• Assess software and hardware bugs, prioritizing significant issues to alert the appropriate engineering teams.

• Oversee complex logistics to support flight operations.

• Frequently interact with internal operators and customers to ensure customer success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience flying fixed wing UAVs, model aircraft, or large multirotors.

• Familiarity with ground control and mission planning software.

• Background in mechanical and electrical systems, including assembly and troubleshooting.

• Basic knowledge of high voltage safety and comfort working with 120 VDC, 20 ~ 30 kW systems.

• Proficient in Linux, command line usage, Git, Python, and C++.

• Fluent in Portuguese and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience in visualizing and analyzing data logs.

• Understanding of aircraft systems and manuals.

• Experience dealing with customers in high-pressure operations.

• Self-motivated and independent, possessing a strong work ethic; capable of self-direction and time management.

• Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness.

• Willingness to travel across the country and spend several weeks working independently.
