This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Develop, execute, and consistently enhance a comprehensive Software Product Assurance (PA) program, reporting directly to the Product Assurance Manager.
• Assume full responsibility for Software Product Assurance encompassing both flight and ground software for our satellite constellation.
• Ensure the meticulous application of software configuration management and release protocols, upholding robust version control, traceability, and engineering discipline.
• Enforce adherence to safety-critical and mission-critical software standards, with a strong emphasis on risk mitigation and failure prevention.
• Outline and supervise software testing, verification, and validation strategies throughout all development and delivery phases.
• Investigate, manage, and resolve software anomalies during development, testing, integration, and operational phases.
• Support Spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) efforts, ensuring software readiness and compliance at every stage.
• Coordinate and lead software deliveries from suppliers, guaranteeing alignment with internal standards, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Engage in subcontractor reviews and pivotal technical meetings, collaborating closely with procurement engineers and Product Assurance stakeholders.
• Balance the pressures of rapid development cycles with the necessity to uphold strong Product Assurance and software quality standards in a dynamic space environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in Flight Software Product Assurance within the space sector.
• In-depth knowledge of software testing, verification, and validation in safety-critical settings.
• Experience with embedded flight software for satellites, spacecraft platforms, or payload systems (experience with FDIR is highly desirable).
• Strong expertise in software configuration management tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with ECSS standards, especially ECSS-Q-ST-80C (Software Product Assurance) and ECSS-E-ST-40C (Software Engineering).
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience in risk management and anomaly investigation.
• Capacity to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines, with a proactive stance on risk identification and escalation.
• Strong collaborative spirit, with a commitment to contributing to and shaping a growing organization.
• Comfort working independently, taking ownership, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
