This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Engages with clients to analyze, conduct, and document studies related to communications resources and procedures for fire alarm dispatch, including fire department equipment, staffing, training, geographic distribution, and water supply networks with hydraulic capability analysis.
• Executes verifications both in-office and in the field, coordinating trips to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely project completion.
• Performs studies to ascertain complex and moderately complex community hazard mitigation ratings as assigned, preparing reports that adhere to corporate standards.
• May assist in organizing meetings with local officials in small groups or workshop formats and provide information or advice as requested.
• Offers customer support for Verisk products through on-site visits as necessary.
• May act as a mentor and trainer for less experienced staff as required.
• Upholds corporate standards for quality, timeliness, productivity, and customer service.
• Maintains CHM equipment and supplies following Verisk policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is preferred, along with one year of experience in fire/property insurance, fire protection services, or engineering. Field experience performing detailed analyses is preferred.
• Successful completion of required in-house training or its equivalent and demonstrated ability to perform all field work assignments at this grade level.
• Capability to observe, examine, measure, analyze, map, gather data, and articulate all facets of a community’s fire protection capacity while safely operating a vehicle to and from all sites. This includes occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs., regular climbing of stairs and ladders, and working in diverse neighborhoods and environments. Extended vehicle operation may be necessary.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and concepts and provide constructive feedback. Competence in conducting on-the-job training. Solid verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficient in public speaking on relevant topics to groups of varying sizes, with sufficient technical proficiency and communication skills to represent Verisk effectively in trade group settings.
• Knowledge and experience demonstrating proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications.
• Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policies. Overnight and/or air travel (in and out of state) may be necessary.
• Comprehensive training, mentoring, and ongoing development fully funded by the company.

• Access to a fleet vehicle, gas card, and maintenance card.
