Fire Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Fire Consultants deliver exceptional consulting services related to fires, explosions, and significant losses for YA’s clientele.

• Lead intricate investigations into fire and explosion incidents, ascertaining cause and origin in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and insurance firms to gather pertinent information.

• Gather and assess evidence utilizing various techniques, including witness interviews, scene photography, fire pattern analysis, and data preservation.

• Evaluate building systems and applicable fire codes, identifying potential failure modes and proposing solutions.

• Create clear and concise reports summarizing investigation results for clients.

• Provide expert testimony or attend depositions if required.

• Cultivate and sustain positive client relationships through effective communication and adherence to established deadlines.

• Remain updated on trends, regulations, and best practices in fire investigation.

• Carry out additional duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fire investigation or a related field within the private sector.

• Certification from NAFI – CFEI or IAAI-CFI is mandatory.

• Experience with depositions or the capability to provide expert testimony.

• Comprehensive understanding of fire dynamics, fire behavior, and forensic analysis methodologies.

• Extensive knowledge of NFPA 921 & 1033 fire investigation standards.

• Willingness to travel to examine fire losses within your state and neighboring areas.

• Demonstrated ability to compose detailed reports and adhere to strict deadlines.

• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe software.

• Capacity to perform various physical tasks, including standing or walking for extended durations, kneeling, squatting, bending, working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, and climbing or crawling as necessary.
