Financial Technical Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Precisely allocate cash receipts to outstanding balances.

• Execute credit control tasks for reinsurance receivables/payables and conduct related account reconciliations.

• Manage financial settlements with clients in accordance with policy terms and agreements while ensuring timely cash flow management.

• Collaborate effectively with various functional departments (Underwriting, Claims, Finance) and clients to address and resolve inquiries, inaccuracies, and missing data.

• Work in partnership with offshore teams.

• Assist with special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in reinsurance/insurance operations or finance is required.

• At least 1 year of experience with accounting software is preferred, with a focus on Great Plains and/or D365.

• Previous experience in cash allocations and credit control is preferred.

• A college degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the insurance industry, is strongly preferred.

• Proficient Excel skills are required.

• Capable of multitasking and navigating different systems and accounts daily to meet multiple deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.

• Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Billing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adjust to frequent changes.
