Financial Systems Analyst – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Serve as the embedded accounting domain expert within the Financial Engineering R&D team, influencing daily product and engineering decisions.

• Direct system and product design to ensure that accounting best practices and controls are integrated into the foundation.

• Convert intricate accounting requirements into scalable, structured system inputs throughout the subledger lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to define processes for accruals, adjustments, reconciliation, and rebooking.

• Contribute to the development lifecycle by providing insights, creating prototypes, and validating solutions for our core accounting platform.

• Assess existing accounting workflows to distinguish core requirements from outdated technical limitations.

• Assist in defining and standardizing accounting logic across systems such as MoneyBooker, IOU Batcher, and NetSuite integrations.

• Simplify complex financial and technical challenges into straightforward, actionable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in operational or technical accounting in a medium to large organization.

• Strong comprehension of accrual-based accounting, subledger processes, and accounting best practices.

• Experience collaborating with technical teams and the ability to communicate accounting concepts in a systems context effectively.

• Comfortable operating in data-driven or system-intensive environments.

• Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.

• Experience with ERP systems, with NetSuite being an advantage.

• Eager to develop technical skills and work closely with engineering teams.
