Financial Modeling Advisor

📋 Description

• Deliver services and support as a Financial Modeling Advisor within the Independent Engineering (IE) Advisory Services, aligned with the Project Finance & Credit Evaluation Support Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Energy Sector (Oil, Gas, Power, and Utilities), focusing on RM | Risk Management Solutions for clients like the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the DOE Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) Program.

• Typically based in CONUS - Located in Washington, DC / Nationwide (Remote Project Support Across the United States) and across the District of Columbia / Nationwide (Remote Project Support Across the United States). Independent Engineering Advisory Services are generally conducted remotely and at project sites throughout the country.

• Analyze project documentation, assess technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks and mitigation strategies, validate assumptions, support conditions precedent and readiness for disbursement reviews where applicable, and produce defensible work products such as model audit notes, sensitivities, DSCR analysis, assumption logs, and financing case outputs.

• Collaborate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to facilitate timely decision-making by lenders and the DOE.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory; proven track record in oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, business, infrastructure finance, or a related field.

• Preferred qualifications include an MBA, CFA, PMP, CPA, or project finance credentials.

• Skills primarily focused on Management and Financial Consulting, Acquisition and Grants Management Support, and Business Program and Project Management Services initiatives aligned with Project Finance & Credit Evaluation Support Functional Area activities.

• Expertise in independent engineering review; U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) - Style documentation discipline; technical due diligence; risk assessment; financial model review, scenario analysis, sensitivities, assumptions, and debt-service metrics; data room review; information request tracking; report writing; Excel-based analysis; stakeholder coordination; and effective presentation of findings for credit, construction, monitoring, and certification decisions.
