This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Engage with patients to discuss their benefits, coverage options, and financial alternatives.
• Conduct various aspects of benefit verification and prior authorization processes.
• Offer continuous financial education and support to patients throughout their care journey, acting as an educator, advocate, and liaison.
• Manage patient accounts by collecting, recording, and updating personal financial and insurance details.
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a medical business office, with a solid understanding of healthcare billing, collections, insurance/benefits, and patient interactions.
• Must possess the ability to read and comprehend payer remittance advice, including distinguishing between allowed charges, contractual adjustments, line item denials/reasons, and patient responsibilities (co-pay, co-insurance, deductibles, etc.).
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Experience in an OB/GYN office is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication with departments, employees, physicians, managers, patients, and insurance companies.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities, independent work ethic, attention to detail, and computer proficiency are required.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• A high level of customer service is essential.
