Financial Clearance Associate 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• The selected candidate will be tasked with gathering and validating essential demographic and insurance details, which include authorization/referrals/notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and other procedures/treatments.

• Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of patients' appointments and procedures (initial, follow-up, and/or add-on) as necessary.

• This role requires the individual to operate within a call center environment and to achieve personal quality metrics, such as productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Accountable for managing patient flow and ensuring timely processing, while also maintaining knowledge of and utilizing practices within the department, physician practice, or hospital to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Must possess knowledge of insurance protocols, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and the overall operations of the BHSF Revenue Cycle.

• Successfully complete the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.

• Proficient in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, empathetic, and possesses excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Preferred: Fundamental knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.

• Familiarity with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications) and proficient typing skills.

• Understanding of regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structures, particularly medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.
