This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take ownership of product and customer profitability analysis through gross margin, delivering transparent insights into material expenses, manufacturing costs, and margin performance.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to evaluate gross margin factors, pinpoint risks and opportunities, and propose actions to enhance profitability.
• Create and uphold product-level costing models, customer profitability assessments, and margin reporting tools that facilitate strategic pricing and commercial decision-making.
• Conduct thorough variance analysis on material costs, uncovering root causes and driving corrective measures with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Compile and distribute weekly and monthly reports on material margin, costs, and profitability for business and finance leadership, emphasizing key trends and actionable insights.
• Track cost variations across products and projects, proactively identifying opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and design-to-cost initiatives.
• Assist in the development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and long-range planning processes through detailed cost and gross margin modeling.
• Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analyses aimed at enhancing profitability, boosting operational efficiency, and fostering strategic business growth.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics.
• At least 1+ years of experience in financial analysis in a manufacturing context.
• Proficient in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, and effective model building).
• Strong understanding of income statements and balance sheets, with a comprehensive grasp of cash flow metrics and their interrelations.
• Background in general accounting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to reconcile complex data sets.
• A discerning eye with robust problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Competence in presenting complex data in a clear and easily digestible manner.
• Skillful in navigating system limitations to generate value-added reports.
• Capacity to multi-task, prioritize, and organize effectively.
• Ability to coordinate activities across a complex multi-plant environment.
• Hands-on experience with the following systems is advantageous: Power BI and business intelligence tools, Syteline or SAP ERP Systems, Planful software.
• Familiarity with cost accounting/standard costing in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
