This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide guidance to colleges and universities on the efficient implementation, configuration, and optimization of financial aid management systems.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, streamline operations, and improve the student financial aid experience through technology-driven solutions.
• Lead or assist with the implementation and/or configuration of financial aid management systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, etc.).
• Configure system parameters to ensure alignment with institutional policies and Title IV regulations.
• Oversee data conversions, integrations, and testing between the financial aid system and associated platforms.
• Conduct needs assessments to pinpoint process gaps and identify automation opportunities.
• Provide advice on best practices for packaging, disbursement, verification, and reconciliation workflows.
• Create documentation, process maps, and configuration guides to promote consistency and efficiency.
• Train institutional staff on system usage, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop user guides, training materials, and reference documentation.
• Offer continuous functional and technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization services.
• Ensure that institutional financial aid operations comply with Department of Education and state agency regulations.
• Interpret new regulatory requirements and guide clients on necessary system modifications.
• Assist institutions with audit preparation, reconciliations, and compliance evaluations.
• Create custom reports and dashboards for monitoring financial aid, compliance, and performance analysis.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in higher education, including system configuration and processing.
• Expertise in one or more Financial Aid software platforms (e.g. Anthology, Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Colleague, Jenzabar, Oracle PeopleSoft, PowerFAIDS, Regent, SONIS, Populi, Workday, etc.).
• Strong comprehension of how Enrollment and Student Accounts/Student Financials integrate with Financial Aid.
• Thorough understanding of Title IV regulations, reporting requirements, and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with SQL, Argos/COGNOS, or similar reporting tools is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to align teams towards shared objectives.
• Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Skill in motivating, developing, and training staff effectively.
• Flexible availability for contract assignments, which may include travel.
• Previous consulting experience is preferred.
• Travel expenses will be reimbursed by College Aid Services, LLC.
