This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is accountable to the Director of Financial Aid and encompasses the following responsibilities: Student Support
• Providing assistance to students via email, phone, video conferencing, and text in areas such as guiding them through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other components of the financial aid process.
• Financial Aid Clearance: Gathering verification and other necessary documents - Communicating eligibility for aid and verification requirements to students.
• Collaborating with students to resolve any obstacles where possible.
• VA Documentation: Supporting students with military and veterans' aid by addressing inquiries, collecting required documentation from students, and preparing informational materials as mandated by the VA & DoD.
• Financial Aid Administration: Organizing and maintaining student financial and aid files in the following areas: ISIR Import Process - Processing student Financial Aid Applications (ISIRs), evaluating aid eligibility, entering aid offers into our SIS, and documenting any aid-related blockers.
• Working alongside our financial aid servicer (Campus Ivy/Portico) to process and package federal student aid, including obtaining support from Campus Ivy.
• Institutional Awards Management: Overseeing our institutional scholarship program to identify students and scholarships for various partner organizations.
• Enrollment Reporting: Assisting with federal and state enrollment reporting into the US Department of Education’s NSLDS system and Missouri’s Proprietary Student Record Application.
• Financial Aid Checklist and Term Documentation: Preparing and tracking documentation for expected disbursements each term.
• Disbursement Batch Processing: Collaborating with our financial aid servicer (Campus Ivy/Portico) to disburse federal aid to students.
• Acting as an SCO for students utilizing veteran education benefits, which includes preparing and providing necessary information to students, communicating with the VA and TA third parties to report changes in offerings, report enrollments, and request funding for students, and attending annual trainings to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Participating in annual FSA financial aid training and any additional training as necessary.
• Ensuring adherence to all US Department of Education Financial Aid Requirements.
• General Responsibilities: Attend regular staff meetings and supervision sessions, including an annual in-person staff gathering.
• Engage in leading staff chapel and prayer on Zoom.
• Candidates must possess at least an accredited Bachelor's degree or have a minimum of one year of prior experience in federal financial aid administration.
• A demonstrated commitment to our Christian mission, vision, and values, with a focus on serving those who are poor and struggling with addiction.
• Applicants for this role should exhibit exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Strong technical proficiency is required (extensive experience or training with Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets, and Windows).
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident alien with valid work authorization.
