Finance Manager – Compliance and Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Accountable for comprehensive tracking, analysis, and financial reporting regarding all restricted donations.

• Design, implement, and assess a global internal controls framework.

• Spearhead compliance initiatives on a global scale, including annual tax submissions in Brazil and the U.S.

• Formulate and revise global financial policies, recognize opportunities for process automation, and collaborate with regional accounting teams.

• Perform ad hoc financial analyses as necessary, maintain effective communication across functions, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

• Assist the Vice President of Finance in managing and executing the organization's investment strategy.

• Offer guidance and conduct peer reviews of financial results to ensure accuracy and foster team development.

• Clearly convey financial information across various functional and geographical areas.

• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Mercy For Animals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in a similar position within Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines; a master’s degree is preferred.

• Familiarity with financial management and accounting practices in Brazil, along with additional experience in international financial standards.

• Understanding and application of accounting principles, including financial statements.

• Results-driven with strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to travel.

• Proficiency in both English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
