This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take charge of preparing and reviewing all assigned business month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing deliverables, which include the statement of cash flows and dividend declarations.
• Manage the treasury function — encompassing monthly cash requirements reporting, banking administration, debt management, and ensuring accurate cash visibility at all times.
• Proactively identify and apply AI-assisted automation opportunities within the controllership to minimize manual processing time and enhance capacity for higher-value analytical tasks.
• Oversee the intercompany reconciliation and recharges process for your designated businesses.
• Coordinate tax compliance obligations as necessary, particularly regarding transfer pricing arrangements, while consulting with external advisors when needed.
• Assist with acquisition integration from a technical accounting perspective — including adherence to step plans, revenue recognition checklists, and PPA model reviews.
• Lead a team of 2–3 members, ensuring effective task delegation while coaching and developing team members.
• At least 4–5 years of pertinent accounting and financial reporting experience.
• CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Prior experience in a managerial role, with accountability for overseeing critical accounting processes and deliverables.
• Demonstrated people management or team leadership experience, including the coaching, support, and development of team members.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS — specifically IFRS 15 (revenue recognition), IFRS 16 (leases), and IFRS 3 (business combinations/PPA); experience in consolidation accounting is essential.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; proven experience utilizing AI tools (such as Claude, Copilot, or similar) to automate finance workflows; familiarity with Python or Power Query is a considerable advantage.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively with teams across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments.
• Capability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
• High integrity and personal ethics, particularly given the sensitive issues and information associated with this role.
• A strong drive to enhance processes and systems instead of merely maintaining the status quo.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal capabilities; adept at collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.
