This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Ensure the delivery of precise, audit-ready financial statements by the 20th of each month, achieving complete account reconciliation with no significant errors.
• Develop and sustain a 12-month rolling cash forecast that is updated weekly, guaranteeing optimal liquidity and transparency.
• Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all departments, maintaining a variance of ≤10% between projected and actual outcomes.
• Create automated systems and workflows aimed at decreasing manual reporting time by at least 25% within your first year.
• Collaborate with leadership to roll out initiatives that boost profitability and enhance EBITDA by 2 percentage points within your initial 12 months.
• Formulate and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for closing, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting procedures.
• Introduce new systems for expense management, travel, and procurement by Month 6.
• Generate insightful financial dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that facilitate improved decision-making.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Operations to synchronize growth, cash flow, and inventory management.
• Assess technology solutions (ERP, reporting tools) that prepare the organization for expansion.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA is highly preferred).
• More than 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Experience in implementing scalable systems and automation within expanding organizations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, compliance, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency with tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• Exceptional analytical and communication abilities; capable of simplifying complex information.
• Experience in e-commerce or multi-channel retail is preferred.
• A collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence decisions at the executive level.
