This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Perform precise mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations located in various geographical areas under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Collaborate closely with seasoned Field Service Technicians to gain knowledge in transformer maintenance, service protocols, and troubleshooting methods.
• Implement technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills in practical field service situations.
• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to aid preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Support the servicing and repair of transformer systems by following established procedures and utilizing appropriate tools.
• Acquire skills to interpret technical data and apply insights to significant customer issues.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling machinery with proper training and supervision.
• Keep precise processing records and assist in transformer testing operations.
• Leverage digital tools and software platforms for documentation and reporting on-site.
• Work in conjunction with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and clients to enhance maintenance strategies.
• Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal procedures.
• High School Diploma/GED along with 2+ years of professional experience in technical or mechanical roles.
• Relevant military training or experience is deemed equivalent and is highly encouraged.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel up to 85% across the country.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and executing strenuous tasks for extended durations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours each day.
• Class A CDL is preferred for operating specialized service vehicles.
• Welding certification or experience is preferred to enhance field capabilities.
• Candidates must already possess work authorization that would enable them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
