Field Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Travel to customer locations within the New York State area, with potential travel across the United States as required.

• Collaborate with customers to inspect new buses post-delivery and address any necessary repairs or adjustments.

• Engage with customers to understand their concerns regarding buses in service of any age, facilitating investigations into root causes and developing resolution plans.

• Diagnose electrical and/or mechanical issues on buses and perform repairs as needed.

• Troubleshoot supplier-related issues and support resolution efforts.

• Conduct and document failure analyses utilizing field reports, photographs, and failed material assessments.

• Serve as a liaison between customers and the factory to resolve challenging product issues.

• Order and ship short or broken/failed parts as necessary to ensure buses are operational.

• Assist customers in ordering warranty or replacement parts as required.

• Recommend and authorize warranty repairs or policy adjustments as necessary.

• Provide driver and mechanic orientations for GILLIG buses.

• Communicate plans with customers to address issues related to the repair process or field campaigns as needed.

• Assist with or conduct accident/fire investigations and provide photographic evidence as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Commercial Bus Industry.

• Proficient in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

• Capability to mentor and train others.

• Strong project management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Demonstrated ability to utilize computer programs for diagnosing bus systems is preferred.

• Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsements.

• Lock Out Tag Out certification.
