Field Service Engineer – Data Center

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide both remote and on-site services for the installation, maintenance, and advanced support of equipment.

• Install hardware, sensors, and accessories for transformers.

• Configure and confirm the physical communication connectivity.

• Integrate and test transformer software, which includes firmware updates.

• Act as the primary on-site liaison for clients and subcontractors.

• Strategically delegate tasks to optimize project costs and timelines.

• Conduct testing of SEL relays utilizing Omicron relay test sets or similar tools.

• Utilize standard industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus and BACnet.

• Perform testing on protection relays (like SEL) at designated settings using an Omicron relay test set or equivalent equipment.

• Carry out electrical tests on transformers, including bushing power factor and capacitance, core megger tests, TTR, winding resistance, insulation power factor, and insulation resistance.

• Ensure adherence to relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate degree with 3 years of professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of professional experience.

• Must be physically capable of performing duties and fieldwork.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience in data center fieldwork is advantageous.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 85% of the time.

• Candidate must possess work authorization that allows them to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
