
Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver hands-on service and support at customer sites.
• Diagnose system issues and identify the most effective repair or maintenance solutions.
• Replace parts and execute intricate repairs on advanced optical systems.
• Provide remote support to customers via phone/email, as well as onsite assistance when necessary.
• Record service activities and offer insights to enhance quality and service processes.
• Assist in the development and testing of new service strategies and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions and create technical documentation as needed.
• Act as the communication link among the customer, the local ZEISS team, management, and the factory team in Germany.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing intricate technical systems.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry is highly preferred.
• Background in the optics industry is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage customer-facing situations effectively.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting mindset with the capacity to work under pressure.
• Adaptable to service schedules and responsive to customer support demands.
• Willingness to travel internationally, including for training trips to Germany.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
