Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance and support to the team to achieve designated goals.

• Pre-commission, commission, and maintain static frequency converters (SFC) and variable frequency (VFD) low voltage and medium voltage drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.

• Deliver technical support and oversight to clients during installations.

• Perform on-site analysis of data and technical guidelines.

• Provide management with comprehensive and timely updates on safety and project/service status, as well as any customer or equipment issues and breakdowns.

• Extend technical support through on-site training and guidance in the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of allocated programs and ground support equipment.

• Collaborate with the quality team on root cause analysis and prepare reports in the event of equipment malfunctions or failures to identify and analyze any negative trends.

• Complete site documentation, including weekly safety updates, installation checklists, pre-commissioning, and commissioning processes.

• Engage in hands-on on-site parts replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment.

• Comply with company Health and Safety policies, working safely and following best practices to ensure the safety and well-being of personnel and equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Strong knowledge of Power Electronics, Electric Circuits, Electric Power Systems, Medium Voltage, and Harmonics, along with proficient hands-on skills.

• Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers.

• Proficient in at least one computer programming language.

• Practical experience and understanding of testing instruments (recorders, power analysers, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, HI pot, etc.).

• Willingness to work on marine vessels if necessary and remain offshore for specified durations.

• Open to travel, including distant in-country or international trips on short notice for limited periods.

• Strong understanding of Health and Safety protocols, along with the risks and hazards involved.
