Field Service Controls Technician – Robotics & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and initiation of robotic and automated machinery at client locations.

• Diagnose and address electrical, control, and mechanical challenges in active production settings.

• Execute preventive maintenance and repairs to maintain peak system performance.

• Assist and educate customer technicians and operators on the use and upkeep of equipment.

• Offer on-site technical knowledge for automation systems, PLCs, and VFDs.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage intricate service requirements.

• Document machine conditions, performance analytics, and spare parts needs.

• Ensure that all equipment complies with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.

• Work alongside sales and operations teams to enhance customer satisfaction and drive continuous improvement.

• Assume responsibility for service execution and promote high-quality results in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 70% of the time (regular regional and national travel is necessary).

• Over 3 years of experience in field service, commissioning, installation, or maintenance.

• Proficient electrical troubleshooting skills with experience in industrial automation.

• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems (programming is not a prerequisite).

• Background in supporting automated or robotic machinery in industrial settings.

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent customer interaction and communication abilities.

• Competency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
