Field Service Controls Engineer – Robotics & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of robotic and automated machinery at client locations.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and mechanical issues in live production settings.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs to maintain optimal system functionality.

• Provide support and training to customer technicians and operators regarding equipment usage and maintenance.

• Deliver on-site technical expertise for automation systems, PLCs, and VFDs.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address complex service requirements.

• Document machine conditions, performance insights, and spare parts needs.

• Ensure all equipment complies with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.

• Work alongside sales and operations teams to promote customer success and continuous enhancement.

• Assume responsibility for service delivery and ensure high-quality outcomes in the field.


⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 70% of the time (frequent regional and national travel is necessary).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service, commissioning, installation, or maintenance.

• Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting with experience in industrial automation.

• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems (programming skills are not required).

• Experience in supporting automated or robotic equipment within industrial settings.

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

• Excellent customer interaction and communication abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
