This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct field inspections and verifications of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies to ensure adherence to NEC, ASME, AWS, ASTM, IEC, and IEEE standards.
• Create and implement QA inspection and test plans (ITPs) for both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform equipment and system tests, including torque checks and alignment verification.
• Facilitate root cause analyses and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any nonconformities.
• Assist in field installation QA/QC, which includes reviewing documentation, managing redlines, and verifying turnover packages.
• Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure product quality and compliance with UL, CSA, and NRTL standards.
• Oversee and organize all QA documentation, including NCRs, inspection reports, and test data logs.
• Work together with project managers, design engineers, and field supervisors to resolve quality issues and enhance processes.
• Offer technical training and mentorship for QA technicians and field inspectors.
• A minimum of 5 years of quality assurance or field engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, supervisors, and clients.
• Proven experience with ISO 9001, NFPA 70E, NEC, ASME, ASTM, and associated quality standards.
• Practical experience in field commissioning, inspection, and testing of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Preferred: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• Preferred: NFPA CESCP, ASME GDTP, or NETA Level II Certification
• OSHA 30-Hour training (General Industry or Electrical Safety)
• Strong familiarity with quality engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, and control plans.
• Extensive experience in mechanical systems, with a focus on cooling and design.
• Proficient with mechanical measurement tools including CMM, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, emphasizing accuracy and safety.
