This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct both virtual and on-site assessments at policyholders’ residences to evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess losses, and facilitate settlement negotiations.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damages and generate estimates in a paperless format.
• Analyze and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies of incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson.
• Operate independently, with your work directly influencing management decisions.
• Represent the company with professionalism in all public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other key stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders to resolve claims.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic policies.
• Be prepared for 1–3 catastrophe deployments each year; CAT-team assignments may involve travel away from home for approximately 23 days.
• High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Exceptional customer service experience, ideally within a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with smartphones and relevant applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies, property damage, and coverage application.
• Outgoing personality with comfort in engaging policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Valid driver's license and eligibility for bonding.
• Subject to a background check of the Motor Vehicle Record.
• Willingness and capability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.
• Ability to navigate small, confined, and damaged spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Capability to achieve at least a minimum passing score on all claims training assessments.
• Physical ability to bend, kneel, pull, push, sort, carry up to 50 lbs., climb, reach, stand, walk, see, speak English, read English, write English, and key-enter.
• Ability to work both in field and home office settings while tolerating specified environmental hazards.
• Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year.
